another one

Same building, this is the part they are trying to save (minus the broken glass). Don't worry I should soon have images of San Francisco. I'm just trying to find some place other than a drug store to develop my pictures.

Wish I had my camera with me right now, the light is great!

pictures!

cool! didn't think this would be so easy. this is a pic. i took while i was still in San Diego. An old building downtown was being gutted, the facade kept to incorporate into whatever new structure going up. This picture reminds me of an abstract painting. I especially love the subtle colors and the textures. The abstraction of the built enviroment has grown to be a new fascination for me.

farmer's market

there were no grand adventures this weekend. It was overcast for the most part and studying was my top priority. I did make it to the farmer's market downtown. Sunflowers and lavender seemed to be favorite for the day, perhaps they always are. Samples of fresh fruit, cheeses and vegan breads, people with carts overflowing, people lingering by the water. My favorite was the sausage - with a touch of tomatoe and basil. I don't understand why some cover theirs in ketchup and mustard, they had plenty of flavor on their own.

summer solstice

we went to see the sunset in the land of hills. descended to the beach below and watched the sun disappear before its time. black pebbles and a flowered blanket was our floor as the stars appeared one by one. the waves crashed and crept slowly forward, only to consume the beach the moment we reached the stairs. A slight ascent and the moon emerged, opposite from where the sun had dropped, and guided our way back home.

the ocean

what is it about water. it draws me. i quicken my steps in anticipation. the views, the sounds. the gentleness of its ripples, the crashing of its waves, the brilliance of the sun as it plays off the surface. it's soothing, invigorating, a constant. a fog rolls in and covers it in mystery, a storm infuriates it. rocks shatter the waves, the morning calms it.

wireless

i ordered my first cell phone today.

it's amazing how fast a society is convinced to think of a luxury as a need.

as fascinating and fun as they can be, i am not exactly what u would consider a forerunner in the implementation of new technologies.

everyday

"Everyday is a battle between what I wanna know and what I don't wanna figure out. And everything in between these thoughts of mine that you know I can live without. And I find myself in need of a pause. I'm not sure but I think that it's because of this desire to be what others want me to be, which is nothing close to me.

"But I'll see better when the smoke clears, when the smoke clears inside my head, and I can listen when the screaming doesn't repeat everything I've said. All that remains is me and who I am at the end of the day, and this happens everyday."

never alone

The round Italian man sings in the street.
Buskers show off their ware convincing u of ur new image if you just shop there.
A procession of people singing hallelujah celebrate a saint.
I walk out of a store with a new pair of birkenstocks and I am asked if I can spare some change. I walk on.
Everywhere I turn something is happening.

office view

gabled rooftops of old warehouse buildings, cargo ships and a white horizon of haze. as the day wears on the horizon reveals the blue of the bay, building outlines on the opposite shore, hills and the gradiated blue of the sky.

a light breeze drifts in from open windows and an occasional pigeon is shooed away.
